Ron Thompson, a 30-year veteran high school biology teacher, has been presented with many other awards for his teaching and curriculum development, including the Christa McAuliffe Fellowship and Washington State Science Teacher of the Year. He personally met President Clinton at the White House when receiving the Presidential Award for science teaching. Mr. Thompson is currently teaching science teacher interns at Seattle Pacific University.
He also provides high quality workshops for K-12 science teachers across the nation. He has conducted in-service programs in most major US cities. For more information on workshops and in-service programs please email Ron.
Mr. Thompson is a frequent speaker on biology education at local, regional, state and national conferences and workshops. He has received many grants and fellowships to write science curriculum for various K-12 science programs as well as for high school biology. He has served on national committees and as a consultant to districts in various parts of the nation providing workshops to science staff on how to improve instruction and how to use his curriculum. He is presently conducting teacher training for science teachers for the Academy of Research & Professional Development in major cities throughout the nation. His various curriculum materials are used in every state and meet the national “Next Generation Science Standards.”
